Durban Web Design - Durban Websites

Website Designer

My name is Wayne Mc Connell, T/A, THE SOUTH AFRICAN WEBSITE DESIGNER. I am a Graphic Designer, Website Designer and Online Marketeer, based in Pinetown, Durban South Africa. I have been building websites for over 8 years now, everything from Stand-Alone HTML Landing Pages, to Joomla and WordPress, Content Management Websites.

I’m an extremely passionate person. I love what I do, and I take a lot of pride in my work. I have built millions of websites over the years, whether this be for customers, or for experimentation and expanding my skill-set. I see myself as an all-rounder, who has taught myself every aspect of the industry. Everything from the design and development of the website, to the content creation and online marketing.

As an independent designer, I had no choice, but to learn everything. I pride myself in the personal attention that I offer. I know that its not easy to find an honest and reliable web designer, or marketing agency, that will give you the personal, one-on-one attention that you are looking for as a small business owner.

A professional website is not something that you can buy of the shelf. Yes, there are a lot f DIY website builders out there, but they all have their pro’s and con’s. A professional website offers a lot more flexibility and can custom-built, to suite your individual needs.

If you take WordPress for example, there are millions of paid, and free, themes and plugins that are available online, that will extend the functionality of your website. It all depends on what you are wanting to achieve online. This could be anything, such as Company Portfolio, Product Catalog, Online Shop, Directory Site, or Property / Vehicle Listing Platform.

There is no limit as to how far you can take your website. The best advice that I could give anyone that is just starting out, is to start small. Don’t worry about all the fancy plugins that are available. Focus on creating a useful, and effective website, then optimizing it to attract free an organic traffic. From there, you could look at marketing or advertising the website on a monthly basis, in order to attract potential leads.

I think a lot of people get carried away with all the bling. There are a lot of websites that are out there that are just over-bloated, and quite difficult to navigate. Don’t fall into the trap. Your website should be a useful and effective marketing too, that generates potential sales, and leads.
